Magic Plant Chocolate Aji Panca Pepper Whole Dried Pods

The Soul of Peruvian Cuisine—Mild Smoky Heat with Rich Berry Undertones.

Overview

Our natural Chocolate Aji Panca packs a gentle, approachable heat at 1,000 to 1,500 (SHUs). Unlike extreme peppers, the Aji Panca focuses on depth and aromatic complexity. The heat is mild and steady. So those few seconds prior to that—this respected pepper actually has a really nice complex smoky and fruity flavor profile! Our Aji Panca ground pepper, crushed flakes, and dry whole pods are mild (spicy), so they are perfect for those who want flavor without the burn. Remember, even with mild peppers, it is best to start with a small taste test to gauge your flavor preference.

The Aji Panca is the second most common pepper in Peru, following the Aji Amarillo, and is prized for its rich, dark hue. Pleasant Warmth and Culinary Depth. Before processing, Aji Panca peppers have a distinctive appearance with a long, slender shape and a deep chocolate-brown to burgundy color. They are often characterized by their wrinkled skin and thick flesh, giving them a sophisticated and recognizable appearance in the chili community.
