Orange Charapita Pepper Whole Dried Pods

Magic Plant Orange Charapita Pepper Whole Dried Pods

The World’s Most Exclusive Chili—Intense Citrus Flavor with a Gourmet Kick.

Overview

Our natural Orange Charapita packs a surprising heat at 30,000 to 50,000 (SHUs). These rare, pea-sized peppers are native to the Peruvian jungle and have gained legendary status among gourmet chefs. So those few seconds prior to the heat—this respected pepper actually has a really nice complex citrus and tropical fruity flavor! Our Orange Charapita dry whole pods are quite hot (spicy), so use with common sense and caution. Remember, the heat is sharp and immediate, so start with a very small taste test to gauge your heat tolerance.

The Charapita is a wild-type pepper that belongs to the "Aji" family, resulting in its unique flavor profile and rarity. Intense Heat and Endorphin Rush. Before processing, Charapita peppers have a distinctive appearance with a tiny, round, berry-like shape and a vibrant orange-yellow color. They are often characterized by their small size and potent aroma, giving them a "golden nugget" appearance in the chili community.

The Experience

Orange Charapitas are known to be the world's most expensive pepper! So why eat it? Like most chili peppers, in certain amounts the sensation can be quite pleasing and causes the release of endorphins in the brain, which make you feel pleasure. Studies suggest that Capsaicin may have certain health benefits, such as pain relief, improved digestion, and potential metabolism-boosting effects. Eat with caution but enjoy the complex flavor provided by Magic Plant Farms' charapitas. Use our premium quality dry chili pepper products once and you’ll be hooked forever! This pepper is perfect in small doses for a specific aromatic kick in stews, sauces, soups, and salsas. For the brave of heart, just add more directly on top!

Too Hot?

Dilute the heat: If you're not used to eating such hot peppers, you can dilute the heat by mixing our dry pods with our milder peppers like our Low Heat Dried Peppers (Chipotle Morita) or our sweet dried peppers (Green Ancho Peppers, Red Cascabel Pepper, Red Poblano Mulato Pepper, Trinidad Pimento (Trini Pemiento), Peppadew Peppers / Sweety Drop Peppers). This will still give you the bright citrus flavor of the Charapita without the overwhelming heat.
